Global 7500

Bombardier Global 7500

The Bombardier Global 7500 is a large, ultra-long-range business jet designed and manufactured by Bombardier Aviation. It is the flagship model of the Global family of business jets and is one of the largest and most advanced business jets in the world.

The Global 7500 can accommodate up to 19 passengers and features a spacious cabin with a length of 54 feet, 7 inches (16.64 meters), a width of 8 feet, 2 inches (2.49 meters), and a height of 6 feet, 2 inches (1.88 meters). The cabin can be configured in various layouts to suit the needs of the passengers, and features advanced technologies such as a Ka-band high-speed internet system and a state-of-the-art cabin management system.

The aircraft has a maximum range of 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 kilometers) and a top speed of Mach 0.925, making it capable of flying non-stop between almost any two cities in the world. It is powered by two General Electric Passport 20 engines, each producing 18,920 pounds of thrust.

The Global 7500 also features advanced avionics and systems, including Bombardier’s Vision flight deck with four high-resolution displays, a fly-by-wire flight control system, and a cutting-edge Predictive Landing Performance System that helps ensure the aircraft lands smoothly and safely.

The Global 7500 received certification from Transport Canada in September 2018 and from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in December 2018. As of my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, the Global 7500 was in operation with several customers around the world.

Global 7500 Hourly price

The hourly cost of operating a Global 7500 business jet can vary widely depending on a number of factors, such as fuel prices, maintenance costs, crew salaries, and insurance expenses. However, according to industry sources, the direct operating cost (DOC) of a Global 7500 is estimated to be from $10,600 or 8,900 EUR per hour of flight.

Global 7500 Luggage compartment

The luggage volume of the Global 7500 is 195 cubic feet (5.52 cubic meters).

As for the number of suitcases or golf bags that can fit into the luggage compartment of the Global 7500, it would depend on the size and shape of the luggage items. The luggage compartment of the Global 7500 can hold up to 4,100 pounds (1,860 kg) of luggage, so it can accommodate a significant amount of luggage.

However, it’s worth noting that the luggage compartment is not a perfect rectangle and has some curvature due to the shape of the fuselage, so the exact number of suitcases or golf bags that can fit may vary. Additionally, the luggage volume is shared with the crew rest area, so the available space for passenger luggage may be reduced depending on crew requirements.

A Global 7500 luggage compartment can fit a maximum of 28 medium-sized suitcases. The exact number is subject to total weight of the bags, distance flown, number of passengers and final word from the captain

Global 7500 Price

A new Global 7500 cost around $73 million USD. The current used sale price for these aircraft is from $55 million USD – again depending on a number of factors.

Interior

Main Features

Main features within the cabin are in-flight entertainment, satellite phone, Ka-Band or Ku-Band Wi-Fi, DVD/CD Player, Airshow, and depending on the operator pets are also allowed. Depending on the configuration, some clients install a shower on board of a Global 7500.

Maximum Passengers

The plane can carry up to 19 passengers with 3 crew members with the default interior layout. However, there are some arrangements that allow as little as 9 and some up to 19. For these passengers, there is 6m3 of luggage capacity and the maximum allowed landing weight is 37,900 kg.

Global 7500 Cockpit

The Global 7500 cockpit is a state-of-the-art flight deck that provides pilots with advanced technology and enhanced situational awareness to improve flight safety and efficiency. Here are some key features of the Global 7500 cockpit:

  1. Four 15.1-inch high-resolution displays: The cockpit features four large displays that provide pilots with a clear and comprehensive view of flight information, including navigation, weather, engine performance, and more.

  2. Fly-by-wire technology: The Global 7500 is equipped with a fly-by-wire system that uses electronic signals to transmit commands from the pilot to the aircraft’s control surfaces. This system provides a smoother and more precise flying experience.

  3. Synthetic Vision System (SVS): The Global 7500 cockpit features an SVS that provides pilots with a 3D view of the terrain, even in low-visibility conditions. This system helps pilots to navigate challenging terrain and avoid obstacles.

  4. Head-up display (HUD): The HUD provides pilots with critical flight information, such as altitude, airspeed, and heading, in their line of sight. This feature allows pilots to keep their eyes on the horizon while monitoring flight parameters.

  5. Enhanced flight vision system (EFVS): The EFVS uses infrared cameras to provide pilots with a clear view of the runway during approach and landing, even in low-visibility conditions. This system allows pilots to land with greater accuracy and safety.

Overall, the Global 7500 cockpit is designed to provide pilots with advanced technology and intuitive interfaces to improve flight safety and efficiency.
